This very cool device consists of a 1.5-inch ball with two small metal electrodes.

This UFO Energy Ball lights up and makes a sound when touched. It provides an excellent demonstration of closed and open circuits. The flashing UFO Ball utilizes a field effect transistor, so even the slightest conduction between the two electrodes activates the Sphere.

Complete the circuit by yourself or with a group of people to experiment with the basic principles of conductivity.

If both hands are on the metal electrodes and the ball does not light up, it may be due to dry hands which restrict conductivity. Try rinsing hands under water. This should do the trick!
